Biography

Michel Farnier, MD, PhD, is currently working in the research PEC2 team at the University of Bourgogne and in collaboration with the Department of Cardiology of Dijon Bourgogne Hospital . He graduated from Dijon University in 1974 with a Doctorate in Physical Chemistry and received his medical degree in 1981. He later completed a degree in human biology with specialization in clinical pharmacology, and also a specialization in endocrinology and nutritional diseases. He was previously Director of a Lipid Clinic in Dijon from 1990 to 2019.

Doctor Farnier is a long-standing lecturer in science and medicine at the University of Bourgogne in Dijon, and he has also contributed significantly to medical research in the areas of dyslipidaemia. His research interests include lipid-lowering strategies and the genetics of dyslipidaemia, and he has been involved in numerous clinical trials in the field of lipid lowering drugs.
