Professor György Paragh



He gained his MD degree in 1978 at the University of Debrecen.

He obtained his specialization: internal medicine, cardiology, endocrinology, angiology.

He obtained his PhD degree in 1987 and DSc degree in 2000. He was nominated full professor in 2001. He was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine University of Debrecen between 2004-2007 and President of Medical and Health Science Center University of Debrecen between 2007-2013. He was director of Institute of Internal Medicine of University of Debrecen from 2003-2018. Since 2001 he has been leading Department of Metabolic Diseases at the University of Debrecen. He was the secretary general of Hungarian Atherosclerosis Society from 2003 to 2016. Since 2016, he has been the president of the Hungarian Atherosclerosis Society. His member of International and European Atherosclerosis Society. He is a member of several Hungarian professional societies. He supervised 18 PhD students, who defended their PhD thesis. He have published 723 scientific paper. His editor in chief of Hungarian Metabolism Journal. The citation for his publication is 9658 (Google Scholar). His H-index is 48. His research interest: atherosclerosis, hyperlipidaemia, metabolic syndrome, obesity. His previous activity was rewarded more than 20 awards.
