Biography

Svetlana Stoica (Mosteoru) is a Romanian cardiologist working for the Research Department of the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases Timisoara. She has graduated “Victor Babes” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Timisoara where she is currently assistant professor and has completed her cardiology residency in the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases Timisoara. Her personal interest lies with preventive cardiology, atherosclerosis, lipidology and cardiometabolic diseases. She is member of the ESC Preventive Cardiology Congress Programme Committee on behalf of the Young Community of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology. She is also an Emerging Leader of the World Heart Federation (WHF) 2022 cohort and editor on the board of Global Heart WHF Journal. Dr Svetlana Mosteoru is also a Young Fellow of the European Atherosclerosis Society and has been involved in numerous clinical trials over the years. She has received in 2016 a scholarship offered by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation to attend their annual meeting. She is currently involved in a national screening program for cardiovascular diseases working on behalf of the Romanian Society of Cardiology to implement a database for primary prevention among underprivileged individuals with difficulties accessing the healthcare system, which aims to reach around 125 000 patients.
