MD graduate at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (1993-99). PhD grade at the Universidad de Alcalá; Doctoral Thesis qualification: A cum laude, unanimously (2007). Specialist in Cardiology (2001-06). Consultant cardiologist at the University Hospital Ramón y Cajal (Madrid), since 2006 to Februray 2008. Consultant cardiologist at the University Hospital Infanta Sofia (Madrid), since Februray 2008 to April 2012. Consultant cardiologist at the University Hospital La Paz (Madrid), since May 2012 to June 2023. Coordination of cardiology outpatients and primary care integration of Hospital La Paz since June 2023.

Past-member of the Executive Committee of the Investigation Agency of the Spanish Society of Cardiology. Past-president of the Clinical Cardiology group of the Spanish Society of Cardiology. Member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). Member of the Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Drug Therapy Working Group of ESC. Member of the Council of Cardio-Oncology Regular of ESC. Member of the Council of Stroke Regular of ESC. Member of the Spanish Society of Cardiology. Member of the International Lipid Expert Panel. Member of the working group of hypertension and cardiovascular disease of SEMERGEN (Spain).

Referee of several national and international peer-review journals. Participation in several clinical trials and investigation projects in the fields of hypertension, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, acute coronary syndrome, pulmonary embolism and cardiometabolic disease.

Over 400 papers published in national and international peer-review journals and over 50 chapters in Cardiology textbooks.
